 Modern Buys Madill
Modern Machinery has purchased the assets of the former Madill Equipment Company based out of Nanaimo, British Columbia. The acquisition included all the parts and machine inventories in the US and Canada and the rights to the Madill name. Although we have no plans in the immediate future to manufacture new machines, we are excited about supporting you with parts and service support into the future.
Our plan is to market parts and service in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand through existing equipment dealerships which have not (as of today) been finalized. We expect to be fully operational within 30 days. In the US this support will be handled by existing Modern Machinery branches.
We plan to be fully operational by July 21, we will need your patience as we work through start up problems and replenish stocking levels that have shrunk to $15 million.
The equipment we acquired as part of the purchase will be sold at auction by Ritchie Brothers this fall. Unfortunately we are not able to offer any of these pieces for individual sale. Because our acquisition did not include any warranty reserves, we will not be able to offer any warranty coverage on new machines or be able to honor any existing warranties for machines in the field.
We have hired Curtis Bolton as the General Service Manager to assist with technical issues and Jeff Bergunder who will be the General Parts Manager. Both will be based out of Nanaimo. In addition, Modern Machinery has hired numerous former Madill parts and service employees. By hiring these former Madill employees we will have some immediate expertise on the Madill product
