35,000 sq. ft. building in Spokane, Washington. |
The employees at the original Modern Machinery branch in Spokane are set to move into their new building the first week of August. The new 35,000 sq. ft. facility will allow Modern to better meet the needs of its customers by expanding their parts storage and shop space. The building features 10,000 sq. ft. of parts warehouse, 6 general repair bays, larger crane capacities, higher ceilings, an undercarriage assembly bay, a welding/fabrication bay and a steam-clean bay. The state of the art steam clean bay has a heated floor to avoid ice build up in cold winter months.
Bill Crandall, VP-Operations, said, “The new facility demonstrates Modern’s commitment to customers and their industries even as the nation and the world are in the middle of a recession. It's exciting to finally provide our employees a better working environment and the tools to more efficiently service our customers. The company is stable and optimistic, something our customers appreciate knowing."
Modern Machinery sells and rents high quality heavy equipment and provides service and support to the construction, mining, and forestry industries. Modern Machinery, which began operation in Spokane, Washington in 1944, now operates full service branches in Missoula, Billings and Kalispell (Montana); Boise and Pocatello (Idaho); Kent and Rochester (Washington); Portland and Eugene (Oregon) and Magadan, Russia.
